We are here to help...
The EKU Counseling Center is committed to the promotion and celebration of diversity in all of its forms. We seek to provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for all persons that seek our services-our services are available to ALL CURRENTLY ENROLLED EKU STUDENTS!
Counseling services are provided at no cost for students who are eligible. These services are confidential as delineated by Kentucky State Law and American Psychological Association (APA) Code of Ethics.
In response to the recent national and local increases in COVID-19/delta variant infections, all EKU Counseling Center services are transitioning from in-person to virtual services via a secure telehealth platform. This adjustment will take effect on 8/5/2021. EKU Counseling Center staff will continue to work on-campus and be available for emergent situations.
Initiating EKUCC services is still a RAPID ACCESS (no appointment needed) process: a student calls the EKU Counseling Center: 859-622-1303. They are sent a link to complete initial documentation and then will speak with one of our licensed mental health professionals via secure telehealth platform or by phone the same day, usually within an hour. If a client requires/requests a crisis meeting between scheduled appointments, they call the EKU Counseling Center: 859-622-1303 and will meet with one of our licensed professionals via secure telehealth platform or phone the same day, usually within an hour. This is also a RAPID ACCESS service (no appointment needed).
Workshops, drop-in groups, and therapy groups/appointments will all be offered via secure telehealth platform. We intend to shift outreach presentations to this format as well and will re-evaluate the in-person events that we have already scheduled for the 2021F term.
We will continue to offer after-hours crisis services. To access that service, a student will need to call the EKU Counseling Center: 859-622-1303 and will be able to speak with a licensed clinician outside of regular business hours: evenings, weekends, holidays, and university closures.
