At EKUCC, we recognize the important connection between physical and emotional wellness. Being mindful of our wellness activities and choices can increase resiliency to stress by promoting life balance and contentment. We offer several programs targeting emotional wellness to increase your potential success in the classroom and in life.

FEEL BETTER FAST is a weekly workshop series that teaches that teaches coping strategies to make your life more manageable.
Meets WEEKLY in Whitlock Room 568 beginning August, 19th
Mondays 3:30-4:30pm
Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 
Wednesdays 11-12pm and 3:30-4:30pm 
Thursdays 11-12pm and 3:30-4:30pm

WEEKLY MEDITATION Drop-in Group: THURSDAYS 3-4pm, Room 568 Experience various types of relaxation and meditation techniques to help calm and relax the mind and body.  Yoga mats, pillows, and blankets are provided.  Open to all students, faculty, and staff.  Please show up at least 5 minutes prior to start time.  No appointment required! 

RESTORATIVE YOGA FOR MENTAL HEALTH & RELAXATION drop-in group: MONDAYS 3-4pm, Room 568 Mind and body, body and mind! Experience gentle movement and stretching with various restorative yoga poses to help relax and calm the body and mind. All materials provided! We will have mats, pillows blankets, bolsters, and blocks for you to use. Open to all students, faculty, and staff. No previous yoga experience required!

BIOFEEDBACK: Biofeedback is a self-guided interactive computer program which is used to manage mood and stress reactions by teaching you how to change your body's physical responses. Biofeedback is used as a tool for managing our body's response to many challenges such as symptoms of stress, anxiety, ADHD, headaches, IBS, depression, test/performance anxiety, and many more.

How do I get started? To use EKUCC’s self-guided biofeedback program, you must first attend a Biofeedback Orientation.

  • Option 1: Attend the Feel Better Fast Workshop on Biofeedback ("Controlled Calm"). This is a drop-in group, so you may simply show up on the date/time of the meeting (see our group schedule link). You may also sign up for this ahead of time by coming into our office or calling us at 859-622-1303. 
  • Option 2: Complete an Initial Assessment appointment and request biofeedback services. You may then be scheduled for a biofeedback orientation with one of our clinicians. If you are already an ongoing client at EKUCC, tell your clinician you are interested in a Biofeedback Orientation.
  • After completing a Biofeedback Orientation, self-guided biofeedback can be used during EKUCC normal business hours, 8-4:30pm. The Biofeedback Room will close at 4:30pm therefore arrive by 4pm to have time to use the equipment.
  • Come into the EKUCC, turn in your student ID to borrow the biofeedback equipment and you will be directed to one of the 7 available computer stations in the EKUCC Biofeedback Room.
